Shortening URLS on the forum
« on: January 03, 2007, 02:19:00 AM »
Can someone remind me how to use a short piece of text in place of a lengthy URL when posting links to this forum?

Cheers

Aye GC,

If your Ebay mail is what you refer too, why not copy and paste the Item No. only?

I'm sure soemone posted a workaround so that I could hide the full URL and display some highlighted text in its place

Graham,

Do you mean creating a tiny URL that then points to a much larger one? :

http://tinyurl.com/

KTM Duke II
Royal Enfield Himalayan

I didn't mean tinyURL, but that will do.

I thought someone had listed a way of doing the href thing, i.e. pointing to a URL but only displaying whatever text you want to assign to that link.
