hi another question which is the easiest way to remove the front sprocket on an engine...no chain fitted yet so old sprocket is free moving....may thanks

Put it in gear, use a good quality socket and if it won't budge then try an impact driver.

Don't forget to check if there is a tab washer locking the sprocket nut on.

good point wasnt a locking tab on thesprocket should there be on an 85 srx600?

There should be a locking tab if you have a plain shaft or a splined lock washer if you have a splined shaft
