Actually this might be a giggle as long as it's only a weekend trip. I'll have a gander at the mileage and see if it's easy to get to.

GC

Update - hmmm... it's nearly as far as the Elefant Rally  :( The route is mostly the same, including the stretch of 250 unbroken miles on the A3. Simon83 has done this in a day so it is possible, especially in May as opposed to January, but it is a slog.

From sunny South Wales it's about 800 miles each way (assuming I entered the correct address into the route planner). The place that came up was near Regensburg, east of Munich. Mind you it would be a novelty going past Regensburg for once without getting frostbite  ;)

The ride is a doddle, arrive Calais (or similar), ride through Belguim and the Netherlands until you pick up the A3 through Germany. Follow the A3 from then on.

I'll be in Moffat that weekend, with my "other" club.  Shame - never been to Germany.

Regensburg is north of Munich,
it looks like a really nice camp site though, right on the banks of the Donau,i would love to go but will be returning from Germany two weeks earlier,
and like GC said, the ride is a doddle ;D,or was it a slog ??? ::)

In terms of navigation it's a doddle, emotionally it's a slog. Sorry for any confusion.
