Llanishen motorcycle show

The Llanishen motorcycle show takes place in Caridff ,4th/5th April 09 .

The stands are free . I have spoken with the organisers and there is a stand there if we want it .I have undertaken to advise them within 7 /10 days of the number of bikes we would want to display and will need to provide details of them . Bikes would be needed from fri evening to sun late after noon . I see it as a chance to have an informal get together and have a bikey weekend ,few beers in the evening and a chance to raise the profile of the club .A good cross section of bikes of all ages would be nice . 

Anyone who may be interested , can you let me know .

I spoke to Rob yesterday and he set my mind at ease concerning one or two worries I had about this. I'm happy to man the stand for at least one day and to help sort this out.

Anyone else want to get involved? If anyone wants to make a weekend of it then there's plenty of room to stay here at Castle Carrick and we could combine the show with a big meal and some beers on the Saturday night. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and one or two pubs  If it helps I could cook a big scoff here to help cut costs.

Apart from the promise of one bike from a club member ,and an offer of support from Jethro and Graham,along with the post from Bruce,there has been no interest at all .
I do not feel that we should attend at the show with a sub standard turnout .To this end if there is no further commitment ,then I will contact the organisers and advise them that the stand they are holding for us is not required.As promised to them this will be on the 10th {tomorrow}.

This show , though small ,is well attended and an opportunity to introduce the club to a wider audience ,thereby raising the profile of the club at local level .

I'm in the same boat as SteveH, as I don't have a thumper at the moment. Plus with wifey working most weekends, time to man a stand would be limited too. Do fancy popping down to the show as a punter and would like to time it to bump into some of you guys if I can (wifey shifts permitting)

My apologies as well Rob, but I'm playing catch up financially from sitting on my arse for two months over the Christmas period. I would love to come down but I'm planning on the Germany trip this year and a long week up on the West coast of Scotland with Alan (XLV).
I do hope to get down to Hay for the XT meet at Baskerville Hall (on the Thursday evening) but then a dash up to the Lakes for a big XT660 bash, then of course there is the Uttoxeter event and if you are interested a bash at Dent 22nd of May. A busy time indeed and the Taxman is still after me!

I have discussed this matter with Graham , last night.We thought it through and we do not have sufficent persons to staff the stand for the two and a bit days {Friday to set up etc and Sat/Sun }.Therefore ,I will contact the organisers and decline to attend .

Just because we are not exhibiting , this should not prevent a few of us meeting up there or in the locality for a chin wag  etc .

Steve , It's only a local show , no camping .Be great to see you but it's a long trek.You'd have to adjust your chain and everything.
