Rotax lump and Mikuni carb
« on: November 15, 2007, 10:58:43 PM »
Looooooong time back I was told by anumber of you not to bother with an AMal carb for the Rotax lump but to find a Mikuni carb.  Well allowing for the vageries of the PO there will be a nice big one arriving from fleabay soon.  Now having told me  I need an Mikuni on it - does anyone have any starting points for jetting it?  With the Amal I was going to jet the 40 the same as the 32 and go from there - main would need to be biger but the pilot etc may have been right.  So anyone of you have any jetting specs for a Mik on a Rotax?

Ta Jethro - I always feel bad about asking advise as I may end up buying nothing - mind I habd out advise to prostective customers like sweeties outside a sixthform college...

Carb has arrived - bugger it is big, and rather lovely - Glad I did not get the hole in the bottom of the tank welded I will have to make it bigger.

LOLOLOL Mik - It is apparently an OE carb from something.  It would bore out to 44 and is probably far bigger than my nike needs - what is it on yours a 40?  38 mm dellorto?

Oh if you still have them I am still interested in those wheels - just not seeming to get far from home with out a really tight leash at the mo.
