Fitting a full fairing to an XBR.
« on: May 01, 2017, 10:34:32 PM »
Just a quick question here.

I'm going to fit the Powerbronze full fairing to my XBR to try it out.  I've never fitted a full fairing before and while it looks fairly straightforward - one bracket clamps to the headstock to support the top fairing and reposition the light and the other clamps to the front downtube to support the lower fairing - is there any particular way or order it needs to be fitted? I've looked online for either instructions or youtube videos and there is nothing apart from fitting replacement sports bike fairings - nothing for touring style fairings at all.

Any tips to make it easier or pitfalls to avoid? Does anyone have any instruction sheets for Powerbronze fairings?

Thanks

Aye Steve,

This is the contact that you require for the fitting instructions and maybe fittings for the fairing:

I cannot remember the specific name of the Powerbronze fairing model that I had!  ::)  Could be 'Daytona' or 'Endurance', depending upon the headlights you have, mine I believe was an 'Endurance', with the twin headlights.

Smudge had the Powerbronze and fittings that was fitted to an SRX twin shock that I acquired and he then fitted it to his XBR/Welsh sidecar combo that he rode home from Wales, some years ago. You'd need to use the 'Search' box in the top right of the screen to find the 'thread' on this forum. I believe that there was a fair bit of jiggery pokery, due to the conversion from SRX to XBR and the sidecar on the side.

All the best, Bill
