SLR 650

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE BOTTOM ENGINE BOLT ON THE SLR 650 IS THREADED INTO THE ENGINE MOUNT I DON,T THINK IT IS BUT MINE IS STUCK SOLID IT MOVES WITH THE ENGINE WHEN U ROCK IT ANY SUGESTIONS

hi I,d say its seized cant see it threaded in  there not threaded  on xbr /nx ,s plenty of wd 40 or similar and a bit of heat might move it with luck   tommy

Will take a look at my Vigor tomorrow, but im almost sure the end of the engine mounting bolts are just threaded on their ends to take a nut. I have encountered engine bolts where the bolt shaft is corroded into the alloy of the crankcase. A total b@@@@@@ :(
Try Plusgas and applying localised heat of the alloy around the bolt. Pouring boiling water from a kettle might free it, or careful use of a blow torch. At worst, you may have to drill it out.

I concur Timbo, I had to drift out the lower engine bolt on my XBR even though it was only 11 months old at the time. A good coating of grease is essential.
