Hello All

Have been doing some research on the question on will a srx400  1jL 1985 cylinder head fit on to a srx600 1jk 1985.  I have had some difficulty in finding technical information on the srx400 and there is some differences between 400 and 600, carburettor and valve sizes are difference.

There is two things I need to find out the size of the cam sprocket and cam drive sprocket on the 400 and the lenth of the cam chain of the 400.

If I can replace the 400 head on to the 600 engine, should I run with the 600 carb or with the 400 carb?

Input or advice would be helpful

Regards Gardener

Values in round brackets (like this) are valid for the SRX-6, all other for the SRX-4.

Valve sizes and lift – intake  32.0mm (36mm), 8.5mm lift
Valve sizes and lift – outlet  28.0mm (31.0mm), 8.5mm lift
Carburettor Primary register dia 27mm  Secondary register dia 28mm (30mm)
Carburettor jetting (primary stage)  Main jet #122 (#118)   Idle jet #44 (#46 )
Carburettor jetting (secondary stage)  Main jet #88 (#100)  Main jet #84 (#96)
Cam chain lenth 600,   75-010/126 Links

The 400 and 600 share parts numbers for the camchain and camchain sprocket.
If you are running a 400 barrel then the 400 carbs make more sense.
