SRX 600 Cylinder head
« on: March 26, 2012, 07:02:31 PM »
I have just re-built my SRX motor with an XT cylinder head and the SRX rocker cover. All seems well but is there anything I should check before firing it up ?. I changed the cylinder head over because of leaking valve guides, will get this repaired in time but using the XT cylinder head as a stop gap.

Aye carnivore,

Sorry that I can't help, as I've not made this modification. SteveH, SteveL or andy230 maybe able to advise as they've done 'Pick an' Mix' motors.

My regards, Bill.

The rocker covers are pretty much the same. The only issue is that the cam bearings are bored as an assembly so in theory the rocker cover an head are supposed to assembled as a matching pair.

Yes the cam bearing was my main concern, I have covered the cam in engineers blue and both sides of the bearing seem to be in contact with out any high spots so hopefully I won't end up with any expensive mishaps!!!! :D
