Generally, I use my bike to get to work or go somewhere and walk about a bit and do stuff so I'd look and feel a bit of a tw@t in full leathers. Just not practical.
Jeans or combats for me, the special ones with the magic pockets that deposit loose change and ciggy lighters into your boot/all over the floor. I've been wearing an old pair of Royal Mail waterproofs for years - great, but the crotch seam has started to leak and I'm not big on the pi$$ed-my-pants look when I take them off so I've just bought some snazzy new ones from Aldi. I've a really nice quality American leather jacket that I got for a fiver but it had a sodding big eagle embroidered on the back so it's had a blast of Halfords Matt-black all over the back panel. Looks awful but it's comfy. Winter wear is a horrible textile VOTO jacket with ten gazillion pockets and velcro $hite all over it. (I LOATHE velcro, what the hell was wrong with press studs?) It's warm, waterproof and cheap so it'll do.
My only concessions to vanity are my helmet and boots. I'm sort of known (to them that know me) for my black full-faced helmet with smiley stickers all over it. My latest is a cheap and nasty Vcan, the one before was an ancient Shoei - great, but the innards have fallen to bits and it smells like a dustbin. I've got a really nice pair of Daytona boots, they're a bit 'Chopper-Club' for my tastes but I got them for £50 (they retail at about £250) so I couldn't pass them up.
The overall effect is 'Tramp-with-someone-elses-boots-on' but I'm ok with that. I'm one of those people could walk round in an Armani suit and I'd still look like I sleep in a bus shelter
