Anyone else here a Wire fan? I got to the end of season five and it's sad that there won't be any more.

If you haven't seen the show then start from season 1, episode 1. It's the best telly for years, but if you don't start from the beginning you won't get it.

I've just started watching 'Generation Kill', written by The Wire's writers, but it hasn't had the same 'hook' so far.

Not a wire fan, but have just managed to bodge the wireless hub to a better position and keep the phone working with a length of cat 5 some plugs, a junction box and some butchered jumper cables, including my beloved Belkin twisted pair 56k modem lead, sob, not used it as a modem lead for years but it felt like abusing an old friend as I cut a tail from it...

Lots of wire - count?

I agree, best program on the box for a long time. Trouble is I only caught it from halfway through the second series,but I still managed to get what was going on. So it looks like I'll have to buy the box set for myself at christmas. Feel the sameway about Generation but it's early days yet. Flashforward and True Blood haven't caught me at all though, switched over and started to look for other things after 10 mins.
