Rather than buy a £130 race tacho with it's own battery, I'd like to convert the XBR one.
My XBR runs minimal wiring and doesn't have a generator/rectifier/battery, etc...
I've looked at the cables for the tacho... Yellow/Black, Brown/Black and Green.
The Yellow/Black looks the same as the wire from the CDI to the coil, so I'm guessing this is where it gets it's 'Revs' from.
The Brown must be live and the Green is therefore earth.
I'm thinking I can connect the Black/Yellow to the Coil/Cdi and then put a small 12v battery across the Brown/Green.
Any idea if this will work, or what kind of amps the battery would need to be.... I'm useless with elastictrickery?
