Long way round
« on: August 10, 2008, 08:10:00 PM »
Not quite Ewan and Charlie but for this years monotreffen I have booked a cross channel ferry for 31st Aug. The plan is to head south and meet Robert Pfeffer in Switzerland. After I have let him buy me a few beers I plan to go to the Dolomites and take in the Stelvio Pass and maybe a couple more. After that it will be back to Robert to meet up and travel to Doornenburg together. [If I can Keep up] If anyone else would like to come along they would be more than welcome to join in. Robert says he has enough room on his lawn for a few tents. I wonder if I can talk BMW into lending me a bike for the trip?

Hi Mart, Pat & I have just returned from France. At first we stopped in Bonneville in the Camper, did Chamonix and some local passes (Tour de France)on DRnotsoBIG and then went into Italy and Switzerland for three days, taking in both St Bernard passes, the Grimsel,Susten, Furka x2, Neufenen......then we went further south to les Alpe d' Huez and around the Vercors National Park, plus lots more. Three weeks of absolute heaven, the roads are superb and the scenery breathtaking. I bought.....
