What levels of vibration can i expect at the bars on an sr 500 with a good amount of throttle? Say on a scale of 0 to a cordless drill on hammer or beyond.

If you're suffering with severe vibration in the bars, you may want to have a play around with bar end weights...

To be honest, I'm not really sure- maybe somebody else has an idea?
Maybe you could try and find the origininal part number and trace the original weight value from there?

I asked on another forum and they said to experiment with weight- they also thought the bars should be rubber mounted so maybe the bushes need looking at? Also they mentioned about the possibility of anti vibration grips. One other guy said he didn't bother with weights at all!

Thanks, i'll have a go at the weights. the mounts are ok and the engine sounds good, so a bit of trial and error seems to be in order.

bsa had some grips that were designed to cut vibration on A65's (cheaper than building them properly i suppose).
i fitted some to my enfield and it helped. they're quite 'chubby' and sort of barrell shaped. if you ask at a brit bike shop for bsa a65 type grips they'll know, i think mine were ten quid.

Thanks, I'll try e-bay or something, you really have to whisper the "Brit" word over here, and I don't know of a single shop.
