Also, don't know if any of you are interested, but at North Weald drag strip, there are a few bike events:
May 11th 2008 - Test and Tune, cars and bikes
June 8th 2008  - Test and Tune, cars and bikes
July 27th 2008 - Classic cars and bikes up to 1983 on track

I haven't been to the North Weald event so I cant verify what its like.

North Weald is an old airfield,and I believe they are still using part of the runway(a bit lumpy!)
Also its an 1/8th of a mile as opposed to 1/4mile.
But having said that I have seen the likes of The Hobbit,Mighty Mouse,Nero and Super Nero and many other amazing machines using it.
Oh ! Not forgetting the pair of V8 engined Fiat 126s,a New York Yellow Cab(Checker) going down the strip with a 2CV.
Its a good day out for the sights,sounds and smells(Castrol R and Hot Rubber !)of a Drag Strip !

Yup....great fun...been several times.....and very easy to get to ( for me :-) ) just off the M11
