SLR Motard

Hello Thumper Club. . Finally got my slr motard into my back yard. Not that easy when you live in a basement flat with no rear access.Full of renewed enthusiam for the rebuild as it started first time with jump leads(with 18 month old petrol).
Wondering if i can tap into your collective wealth of knowledge for a bit of advice?
Firstly, the bike runs a non standared straight through exhaust and judging by the colour of the plug i've a feeling it is running rather lean. Any idea's regarding jet sizes? Thinking of junking airbox for a k+n and fitting a dynojet kit.Worth doing?
Secondly, I'm not too sure the exact differences between the slr and the dominator engine but i know the slr is in a softer state of tune.Softer cam perhaps? Would a cam swap with a dommi be worthwhile?
Finally, the rear shock is absolutely shagged and due to the rare nature of the bike the only viable replacement is a hagon unit at over £250. Can anyone recommend somewhere that could rebuild the original as i'm on quite a tight budget and i'm sure it would be the cheapest option?
Any advice gratefully received,
Many thanks,
Simon
p.s Will upload some pics as soon as i can get my hands on a camera

Revs racing at Halesowen rebuilt the supposedly unrebuildable rear shock on my VFR.It cost about £110 to have done.Admittedly I have not ridden the bike since but his work comes recommended to me by other people.
