Oh Andy, why do you torture yourself so???

Hiya Pat!  (and hello to you, Bill!  Yes Carron valley and the Dukes pass!!)

Torture?? Because I want another (competetive) race bike.  And I want to see how cheap they can go for.  Was going to bite the bullet and buy one, but the SRX will do for next season, I just need to learn to ride it.

To this end, I shall be attending race school before the start of next season.  I had initially dismissed the idea (being a brilliant rider anyway, who can learn nothing from so-called "experts" like Haslam...).  I justified this by the first season being a "toe in the water", and tuition was money wasted.

BUT!  I figure now that I want to get a bit competetive.  And the best way to do this is probably not to buy a very nice, very shiny, very light and very dear Tigcraft minimono.  I am fairly sure now that I am the limiting factor in the package, and the greatest gains will be made from training me.

Plus, I get the benefit of learning something tangable, not simply ownership of a new thing which I can't afford.

However, I like to keep an ear to the ground!

andy

ps.  May make minor adjustment to the bike tho, in the shape of 250 wheels.  Anyone got any relatively skinny wheels from a big 125 or 250?  The FZR400RR wheels are too fat, and probably pretty heavy...

Hi andy, can I tempt you with a nice ZXR250/HONDA 680cc. Have done all the major work (lots of new stuff), just needs fine tuning on the track. New suspension front & rear...new head & wheel bearings....new race tyres f & r (avon am22/23)...new rear shock...new brakes (Harrison 6 pot billett front & Harrison mini 2 pot rear)...+ lots of other bits.  I've retired now (at least that's what I've told the missus), so am clearing out a LOT of stuff (I might accidently lose a race bike down the back of the garage, just in case!).The reason being a struggle getting away for race days & getting somebody to look after Michelle. Coupled with young John's expensive habit of wrecking race bikes (he went out at cadwell a few weeks ago with the mono's, riding my yam 620, I had just commented to a fellow rider standing next to me, how well John was going, when he came up over the mountain & completely looped it at the top absolutely wrecking the bike & breaking his collarbone, so he's having another layoff till next season (maybe!)

If I can help with anything, let me know
