Title: KPH/MPH speedo overlay.
Post by: wellesleyboy52 on August 17, 2012, 05:58:29 PM
 Hello all,
just doing a few jobs on the SRX, mot. looming, a little while ago I removed the kph/mph overlay from the speedo where it was quite happy, and put it in a safe place, so, the question is, does any one know where I can get another. I have made several enquiries, but so far no luck,  I might find the one ive lost whilst I am looking for my glasses or car keys, but in the  meantime, Help!
                                                                                                       cheers,Mel.

Whilst putting my SRX in for MOT earlier this month, I was asked if the Speedo was in MPH or KPH as I have a convertor gearbox fitted (to both my SRXs in fact). I dont know if you were concerned about the KPH thing but it didnt seem to matter for the MOT where I took my bikes. Having said that, I dont know if the following link will be of help

 Hello Ian,
many thanks for your help,I am going to call in the MOT.station tomorrow and ask them what the position is re the KPH speedo reading. If they are concerned I will go down the overlay route.I will probably do that any way for my own peace of mind.
With regard to the  decompression cable request I have made, the one on the bike at the moment is working fine, the bike starts and runs very well, but the adjusting screw in the middle of the cable is somehow locked up and refuses to move either to slacken or tighten,I have made several attempts with the usual freeing agents and a little heat but so far no joy whatsoever.I have tried several times today, with no result.I dare not try too hard for fear of ruining the adjuster, but cometh the day if I have got a spare, I can sort it.
Again thanks for the help, and the kick start stop,I will be in touch.

I may have changed but it used to be that the only MOT requirement was to have a speedo fitted, it isnt checked because there is not requirement to drive/ride the bike. I had two or three MOT's with a broken speedo cable on a DT175.

 Hello,
called at the MOT depot today and had a natter about the above post,as with Steves experience they showed no interest as to whether the speedo was MPH or KPH,as long as it had one fitted,so that was that.
                                                                                      Thanks for your interest .
