Title: Demise of AVON tyres.

With Avon tyres, I am not sure what is going to be the outcome of the take-over by Cooper Tyres (Goodyear)? The Melksham plant is due to close at the end of 2023 and the continued manufacture of motorcycle tyres elsewhere is uncertain, I believe?

TGA Racing at present have secured supplies of Avon racing compound tyres, but for how long I am not sure?

This is a link to the TGA Racing website: TGA_Molnar_racing_website (https://www.tga.co.uk/)

Good health, Bill

I have an idea Avon was taken over by Firestone some years ago. Since the early 1980s manufacturing has been explicitly downgraded in the UK in favour of finacial "services". And look where that's got us. The recent farrago of Britishvolt is another case in point. If there's not a fast buck to be made no-one's interested.

Yes , i couldn’t agree more Ian. All we seem to have now is an expectant generation, that just want it all and want it NOW. 🤦??? It’s a sad state of affairs.
Cheers, Michael

I don't think it's the generation. The rot was started by Thatcher and continued by "New Labour" and the current bunch of mean spirited greedy lying "governments".
