Title: A great days ride
Post by: JOOLZ on July 20, 2021, 11:24:22 AM
Sunday was perfect, I finally have a pair of kevlar trousers, so much cooler than my leathers, filled the tank to the brim with 4 1/2 gallons of 99 octane and then started off for our ride, ended up doing 3 counties and 100 + miles with a mix of fast roads and quiet forest ones, plenty of stops along the way to have a drink and enjoy the views, got back home just as the tank was on empty. The bike ran like a dream and the only mechanical trouble ended up being my wrist and resulted in a last few painful miles where I could barely hold the clutch leaver in

4.5 gallons for 100 miles - less than 25 mpg!!!!!!

Sounds great though.

Hey Joolz you are very welcome. It is so nice to see someone who hasn't rushed down the 'chop off the back end with a grinder' route to building a bike. Yours looks like a very competent build and is certainly very authentic to the style that matches the age of the bike, but is still an updated and potent bike. Too many builders now go for form over function.

It may be 25 miles to a gallon, but I bet every one of those miles puts a face-splitting grin under you helmet (oooer missus).
