Title: CMC Open Day and Show, Sat 1st June

Last minute one this. CMC is possibly the largest restorer of classic Jaguars in the UK. It is on Stanmore Ind Estate on the edge of Bridgnorth. last year they celebrated 25yrs of being in business with an open day and show. It was a huge success, and so tomorrow they are doing the same again.Last year the feature model was the E Type, and I gave up when I counted 65. This year, its the MkII, as in Inspector Morse. As well as there very impressive facilities being totally open to the public, including workshops, paint shop, trim shop etc, the show attract a vast area of all sorts of classic cars. As a bonus, the adjacent Marches Engineering Apprentice training facility is also open to the public, and is equally impressive! I shall be attending from noon, in my mates 1941 slat fronted Willys Jeep, which is the absolute bo@@ocks, and totally unrestored. Toodle pip  :)

As expected, a great event with lots of interesting stuff to look at, including rows of MkII Jags, some for sale, at prices to suit all pockets. Actually, that is pure bo@@ocks, as they were blooming expensive!
Tour of their workshop facilities was also facinating, and my favourite car overall was a well used and raced D Type.
Highlight of the day was driving around the Shropshire countryside, including a couple of nice pubs, in a 1942 slat fronted unrestored Willys Jeep, including a bit of off roading  ;)

I was down there last weekend too but didn’t know about it as I was on the choo choo train

I love choo choo trains. Was scraping years of congealed crap off them at the SVR all day yesterday!  :-\

I went there as well Tim but I didn't see you. Lots of shiny and (very very) expensive mk11s. I too enjoyed the tour of the work shops and also Meridian Training. I was told to leave my details as it seems there is a shortage of qualified engineering trainers/assessors 🙄....I wonder why🤔

Sorry I missed you Ian. We didnt get there till nearly 2pm and left around 4pm. Maybe next year  ;)
