Title: World Vespa Rally
Post by: timbo on June 18, 2018, 02:09:42 PM
By pure fluke, I happened to be back in Belfast over the weekend, which coincided with this event. Over 3000 Vespas, they were everywhere, a very impressive site.
In over sixty years, this was only the second time it had been held in the UK, with some of the founding members of the Northern Ireland Vespa Club from the 50s, starting them off on their mass ride out on saturday. One fella had ridden from Bulgaria, and another from Cyprus! The ferry back over to Birkinhead last night was packed too. Just one query? How come the continentals look so fn cool without even trying!
Anyone got a cheap PX200 for sale  ;)

Sorry Tim but you'll have to lose the beard and the camo gear for slick backed hair and ( could be a problem ) and a two tone suit if you want to join .  8)
Italian women buzzing round Rome on scooters is very cool (if that's the right word) .
All the best Mark

Yes - love 'em or loathe 'em it was an impressive sight. And apparently it generated millions for the local economy as they were mostly staying in hotels and "drinking the bit out" in the local pubs as we say. Not sure if the attached link will work but it must have taken 10 minutes for them all to pass. I'm more of a Lambretta fan - I was given 1967 150 Special by a neighbour and sold it the following year for £40 - Not one of my better decisions if you check the current prices!!
