Hi
I have just bought a skorpion and would welcome some advice on tyres - I want something sticky.
Anyone got any recommendations?
Cheers

hello mate
Looked at mine last night
Bridgestone BT 92's F& R I think. Tho mayabe BT 090s....
Standard sizes I am sure. Will check at lunch...
I had dunlop sportmax's on it when bought and rode them out cos I'm tight! They were ok on road and trackdays etc. But (as usual!) change your tyres and its like a new bike!
The guy at the shop did warn me that they're not going to get very good milage, especially the rear on a single. I think I got them for 175 quid a pair... It hurt at the time, but certainly a good investment!
So I'd heartily recommend. Your can will ground out tho!

Thanks Andy
Bike has a BT92 on the back at present 2/3rs worn and a well worn rensport on the front - still one of the best handling bikes I've had. I think I'll take your advice - after all, they are pretty much about snorting about finding things to lean around as far as I can see:-)

My Skorpion Traveller wore out its stock racing Metzeler rear tire pretty quickly, as they all will. Big thumpers wear out rear tires pretty quickly because the series of micropulses worms them away....especially at low RPMs.
In any case, a friend of mine is starting to carry Shinko Tires...Korea's new tire entry. He offered me a tremendous deal, I bought it, and it is working out pretty well. It grips, corners, and stops to my satisfaction, and seems to be wearing much better than the original.
I don't know if they are yet available in the UK, but you might look into them. The quality is high.
As for track time...I can't say, but it is certainly a sporty touring tire.
