Hi
I posted on here a couple of weeks ago,it was to identify an srx/bitsa.
I bought the bike it is a srx frame tzr forks and wheels with a converted szr engine,I spoke to a previous owner that gave me this info as far as he knew it is correct info, the engine is close to 780cc .It started ok a few times but it has a fault on the starter whereby it doesnt turn the engine over it just whines, after a dismal attempt at bumping it(too fat,too slow, too old)it started on the button again, but wouldnt the next time it stopped.
So this being my first bike with a button start,i am flummoxed. Where do I get new parts? Is this a common occurance with this model? Is this expensive?I am a tyke!
Any advise would be appreciated Chippy

Hello mate,
Sounds interesting! If its a 780 engine it'll very likely be hi compression. 660cc is standard. Try using a car battery (just to prove your point, I'm not suggesting fitting a trailer!!), because the standard battery usually struggles (my mz skorpion uses the same motor).
Not sure about this special, but my MZ has a little black solenoid, check this as a start. Not sure about sprag clutches etc, never had a problem with mine...
And I *can* bump the skorpion, but only on a hill, and probably with a push.
Some photos may be nice! Where are you? If your round norff london I may be able to have a look n help you out at some point??

Hi
Thanks for the reply,It is the battery!! A guy I know who has been in the motortrade all his life gave it a once over and said I need a powerful battery and an optimate.
I have been looking at some batteries called Oddysey, they are glass mat types ,they sound superb but expensive, another option is a varta glass mat, there is a stockist locally,so I am going to see tomorrow.
I can take some pictures ,but do not know how to post them!
I have a metisse with a chair on powered by a g80 cooking engine and a 55 16ms ajs and an oif a65.I liked the srx thing so i sold a lightweight matchy i had to make room for it.It certainly goes very well once it hits 3k,but a bit stuttery below.
If you can give me any tips on posting pictures,i will take some.
cheers chippy
