Im helping a friend change the cam chain on his GB400, does it use the same cam chain as the XBR GB 500

According to the CMSNL part lists it's the same part number so it should

Dave Silver sells pattern cam chains for the XBR much cheaper than CMSNL. He sould also be able to confirm if it will fit.

Im am going to give him my old cam chain, its only done 6000 miles so practicly new. He is a student so I thought I would save him a few quid

Apparently a worn cam chain need to be fitted in the same direction as it was on originally, otherwise it's noisier and wears the cam sprockets faster, the second bit I can't confirm but the first bit was the case on old red.
I am interest to know about the camchain, and also that CMS have a GB400 parts list on line, I've never looked so may well do as I'll be interested to see where the engines differ from what I know for the XBR, thank you,
