Title: Thumperless
Post by: manxie on December 29, 2016, 07:11:39 PM
Sad day  :( All my project bikes flew the nest today  :( MZ ES250/2 Trophy, 350 TS Jawa and 1 1/2 Suzuki SP370`s  :(  So I`m thumperless at the moment  :(

However ......  ;) another project arrives tomorrow. A Yamaha XT250  ;D ;D A one owner bike but it`s been lying in a barn for over 20yrs (I think) so no doubt, I`ll be on here picking some brains in the near future  ;D ;D ... sorry didn`t mean to laugh  ;)

Talk about, "Out with the old and in with the new"! Good luck with your XT revival in 2017!

Hi fellas. I got the XT250, and it needs a fair bit of work but it`s all there, and original. A very worth while project IMHO.

I also picked up a 1977 Bultaco twin shock trials bike in WORSE condition, of the same fella. I know it`s not a thumper but can anyone tell me what carb should be on it? (it`s missing??) The bike is a 325cc 350 Sherpa.

Thanks, Steve. ;)

Aye Steve,

Used to be Bing 28mm. Amal 600 series, MKII and Mikuni replacements all work and have their advocates.

For spares try InMotionTrials from Egham in Surrey. Link: InMotionTrials_twin_shock_specialists (https://www.inmotiontrials.com/)

This forum and posting should be of use and confirms what I thought on reading your post: Bultaco_Forum (http://bultacoforum.com/index.php?topic=500.0)

My regards and a healthy 2017 to you and yours, Bill

Excellent Bill. Thanks for the info and links. Best wishes to you and yours too for 2017  :) :)

Next one, has anyone got a decent carb (as mentioned above) in good working condition, for sale?

Thanks.
