Title: XBR rotor removal
Post by: onthecheap on December 28, 2016, 01:51:03 PM
I have undone the centre nut with the trusty impact gun. How does it then pull off the end of the crank. The manual shows some kind of slide hammer - is there another way ? Seems I am becoming a bit blind to obvious things at the mo.
Should anyone have need of all the gubbins from the left side of the motor let me know. Ditto starter motor. The kickstart area already has a claim on the bits I don't need.

Will a puller not work. Even a home mad one ?

Hope that's me you're referring to?!  Be good to clear that decompression lever off my bars. Sorry I can't be of help with your rotor.

You need the tool that screws into the flywheel or a suitable large bolt, tighten it up ond off comes the flywheel. I havent found any alternitive way of doing it

M10 bolt dropped in where the original M12 went and a M20 into the end of the rotor threaded part. Impact gun and it released off the taper. Time for a cider I think ! Thanks for the input guys.

Should anyone have to take the rotor from the end of the crank and does not have the correct bit of kit and does not fancy the way I did it I have made a tool to do it should anyone in my area need to come round and use it. Failing that all you need is a bar threaded to M22 x 1.5 ( fine ) and away you go.
