Title: Bent fork tube
Post by: timbo on December 15, 2016, 01:05:13 AM
I have a slightly bent fork tube off a 125, so not too heavyweight that I want to straighten. Anyone any good simple tips/advice on how to straighten?
Also, a bent frame I want to straighten?

Sheet of glass to check it and a big press to try and bend it straight?  Had a fork leg straightened years ago on my XTZ but got an engineering shop in Manchester to do it.  Frame - guess you would need to make a jig to check it.  Maybe a bottle jack to try and persuade it into shape?  If you are talking about your affliction for Eastern European stuff Tim I wouldn't think the frame was that straight from new  ;D

 ;D Fair comment Steve   ;D
Fork tubes now with the very experienced John, at Eastend Motorcycles, who can do this sort of job with his eyes closed. As for frame, no luck so far. Used to be, there were any amount of people could tackle this, but these skills are all being lost, sadly. But, by hook, or by crook, it will be done! Rest of bike completely stripped, and tank and tinware bashed to within an ounce of itself, by myself, which has been a learning experience  ;)

Thanks Tommy. Forks out of a Motobelo Regent, (Minsk), and already left in for straightening. £30 each.
