Title: Yamaha SZR660
Post by: guest2070 on December 08, 2016, 12:58:19 PM
Hi,

Has anyone on here any experience with SZR 660's? I seem to always have fuelling issues of one kind or another. Current stripping the carbs down for the fourth time in 4 years. Interested in any modifications or upgrades to the fuel system. I have fitted an electric fuel pump which made a big difference to the general running.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. At least I'm not alone.

I had one as a first big bike a few years ago and loved it. Never had any fueling issues. A good clean out of the carbs might cure it. Check fuel tank breather too.
I have a MZ Skorpion sport now which has similar engine. Not had it running yet.
SZR was a delight in the twisties, had my Paoli forks rebuilt by Ohlins engineer and it was on rails.

Thanks for the reply. I agree, the bike is a delight to ride. I had a similar reply from another forum 'just rebuild the standard carbs'. I am part way along that route but  need to source the various 'O' rings and seals.

Cheers,

Nick
