Bought a massive pile of bits as a project. Gone for lighter wheels from Aprilia RS125 and ZX6R forks.

Looking very tasty with your mods! Please tell me that's not the holy grail of workshops, i.e, in the house indoors?!

Yes looking good silver, always liked the frames on the Skorpions but never really liked the fairing or tail unit. Will you be changing the bodywork??... Keep us posted of developments. Cheers, Michael

I actually like the bodywork on the sport. I also have a race fairing lower and race seat unit. Will build it up as standard initially.
The Aprilia wheels saved 4.5kg. The forks are full cartridge and only cost £45 as there are plenty around. Need to shave a little off the rear calliper bracket to get calliper on, then the running gear is about done. Should progress bit quicker then. The aprilia wheel are also made by grimeca like the originals.

Mthee. It is a mega workshop, separate from the house. Got room for 3 bikes plus the one in progress plus a massive bench, just added mill/drill to help the project along.

looking good :). Would love to have a mill myself, very handy bit of kit

Just bought a set of tyres. Metzeler M7 RR are used on the KTM390 Cup series as the control tyre, consequently you can get a set in lightly used condition for £75 posted. And they are correct size being 110 70 17 and 150 60 17.
I have used ex-racers tyres before on road and track and they are usually perfect. Worth checking the manufacture date, but these are from this year.

Yes I have a good mate who takes his track day'ing pretty seriously and he buys most of his track day tyres from racers that he knows and as he's got a fireblade and a trumpet 675 Daytona to shod he saves himself quite a bit .......cheers, Michael
