Could anyone with a SRX 400/600 take the time to descsribe the SRX flasher system. On finally reinstalling the engine in my SRX6, I am left with the task of trying to work out how the various components connect together. I have a black flasher relay with two terminals, which I think fits under the tank at the top of the front downtube. Any help welcome. Thanks Rob

Hi,
Not sure how much info you need, but on my 1JK 600 (Jap home market) the flasher unit sits inside the webbing behind the steering head. Not sure about the 1XL etc, but mine has tail/stop bulbs in the front indicators. One filament is lit when the indicators are off (and lights are on), and goes off and the other one on when you indicate.
There are various spots online that you can download a manual and wiring diagram.

Aye g80cs,
Use the links on this sites main menu to get to the SRX600 Homepage, full wiring diagram for 1XL model available there. Bulbs fitted to this model are 12v 21w single filament. Reason for double filaments in standard 1JK model are the 'running' lights for myopic car drivers in Japan and the world over!
Thank SteveH for his generosity and even join the TC!!!!! You know it makes sense? ;-)
All the best, Bill

Thanks Peter and Bill, I have the flasher unit with two spade terminals. Unfortunately the connectors have corroded off, so I don't know the colours/polarity, so ideally I need a description of how this connects to the other components of the flasher system. A big ask, but if you could describe the wiring/components that would be brilliant (studying the wiring diagram and badly photographed photos gives me a headache). Regards Rob

Aye g80cs,
After a 03:00 and 01:00 get to bed weekend I'm just off to the kip. Will try and do a description for you tomorrow if I sleep and the day job doesn't fry my brain!!;-)
Or some other kind soul on the site beats me to it!
Regards, Bill

Aye g80cs,
Answer to big ask!
Sally (1JK) revealed the following!
White plastic face of flasher unit with two terminals facing to rear of machine.
When sat on the bike, flasher unit horizontal spade is uppermost with vertical blade to right/offside of machine.
Horizontal spade is labelled 'B' moulded in casing. Vertical spade is moulded 'L' in casing.
In twin terminal connector on wiring loom, Brown (Br) wire socket connects to horizontal 'B' spade. Brown/white stripe (Br/W) wire socket connects to vertical 'L' spade.
After cleaning and making good connections with new unit protect with 'Vaseline' or ADF50, take care not to rot the rubber mount with it. Soak the rubber mount in 'ArmourAll' for protection, works very well at preventing perishing and breaking up of rubber components, but don't use on handlebar grips? Slippery rubber!

Much gratitude to Bill and Sally, I will try this as soon as I get back to the garage, and will let you know how I get on. If I remember right, the descending connectors from the witing loom have three wires. Oh well. I am so enthused by the response, I will post a question about the exhaust downpipe/silencer connection (can't work out how the fibre gaskets seal the joint). Thanks again, Rob

Aye Rob,
If you have three connectors, Ican only advise from the same wiring diag. as on the SRX600 site!
Could assume that the loom wire socket Yellow/Blue (Y/B) attaches to the other vertical spade terminal on the flasher unit.
Sorry, I can't be of more help. Wiring logic isn't in my way of thinking!!
