Finally the longwinded saga of my SRX400 is ended. Swopped the alternator and Hey Presto! full output is achieved. Can at last wang-it along at 70mph.
SteveH I'll need to sort out with you about a repalcement for the alternator, but the coil was a straight swop and made no difference so you can have that one (HT lead is longer). I think BeeMan has now become the suppository, sorry repository, of all things SRX400, so he may be able to help out with a replacement. I could of course have the buff one re-wound, and then you know its working, but that might be expensive. Will investigate. Thanks for 'loaning' the parts as it would have been a complete pain to have bought vaious replacements not knowing which one was the duffer!!

Good to hear its finally sorted. They are my only spares so need them back at some point, but theres no immediate hurry.
