Title: Leaky petrol tap
Post by: timbo on August 04, 2016, 08:00:15 PM
Very leaky cork petrol tap on my C12. Could I just wrap the cork in PTFE tape?. Would soaking cork in water first help? Can I just cut a new one out of a cork?

No, to the first, might, but why not in petrol? And, yes, as suggested on other thread champagne corks!  ;)

My regards, Bill

no. dont wrap it in anything. take the cork out and pop it in a pan of boiling water. this swells the cork back up to its usual size. old old brit bike trick (from a fellow beezer owner)
