Title: Preparing for Sneetterton?
Post by: OMEGAMAN on March 30, 2007, 12:20:37 AM
Despite "retiring" over the winter, I now find myself getting ready (late) for the Supermono season as my son has decided at the last minute not to compete this year due to injuries/money.
The first of two projects is a half finished old TIGCRAFT framed / nsr400 swingarm / tzr wheels & brakes / uprated (MAXTON) tzr forks & rear shock, powered by (as yet untried) a tuned XBR500 engine. If all goes well, I should have this up & running in 2/3 weeks & out at Mallory for testing (& lot's of much needed practice), the target being the SUPERMONO round at Snetterton (so you might not come home last after all ANDY230!)

The second project is a TIGCRAFT frame-swingarm / Kr1s forks & brakes / fzr400rr front wheel with an unidentifiable rear wheel / as yet no shock / powered by my old SRX620 engine (if it still runs) out of my last race bike (that my son wrecked at Cadwell last year). I will be starting straight away on this one as soon as the xbr is ready as I suspect the xbr might struggle a little with my weight on board (need to lose around 1 1/2 stone in 5 weeks?)

Will update as soon as I have more.....

Yaaay!!

John, I wish you enough luck to get the bike to the grid, but no luck at all in losing the weight or having a competetive bike!  And as for having 2 tigcrafts, well, thats just showing off innit??

Looking forward to a chat and a cuppa at Snett.  Am testing at Mallory again on Wednesday 11th.  Don't suppose you can make it in time?

Cheers for now, all the best mate
