Title: Aprilia Moto 6.5 sealed beam unit (lens)
Post by: guest1667 on March 20, 2016, 10:41:52 AM
Does anybody know where I can source a headlamp sealed beam unit (lens) for an Aprillia Moto 6.5 or know if any other make or model uses the same unit?  The photo of the bike`s headlamp shows the manufacturer`s (CEV) markings on the lens: do any of the letters or numbers mean anything to help me source the item?

                                Thanks

Wouldn't any appropriately sized unit fit (maybe after some adjustments)? BTW that is a LHD unit as you probably know. You could always just use some black tape.....

In the event of not being able to readily obtain a genuine unit, as a substitute one of those £25/30 easily found Yamaha LC pattern headlamps are terrific, I fitted one to my old 250RS and I can actually go out in the dark now. Of course if you are keen on originality only the real thing will do. Best of luck.

Aye lefthand,

Suggest you try these links, I have no experience of either of the last 2 suppliers, but maybe of use:

Paul_Goff's_vehicle_electrical_site (http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com)

Vehicle_Wiring_Products (http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/)

Aprillia_Genuine_parts (http://www.apriliagenuineparts.co.uk/contact-us.php)

Autoelectricalspares (http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/headlamps-187-c.asp)

I hope that you have success.

My regards, Bill

I have used VWP as mentioned for many years and they are excellent.

Thanks everybody.  I want to keep the original parts on the bike if possible, it`s an important part of the bike`s design. The photo is of an American friends bike, hence the dip on the `wrong` side. I`ve contacted Vehicle Wiring Products with pics and dimensions; they may have something that could fit.
                                                                        Thanks all.
