Not really a project as such, but my favourite bike is back on the road after an eighteen month lay up, due to a disintegrating alloy front wheel. Picked up a good used Morad rim for £75 and a set of stainless spokes for £35. MOT tomorrow. This is the bike that rejuvenated my interest in bikes, and convinced me that Thumpers are the best fun. Spring has sprung! :D :D :D

Lovely bikes the Dommie`s, very nice!! I`m to short in the a$$ for one sadly :( The second pic shows a Thumper Club sticker ..... is there anywhere to purchase Thumper Club items?? Cheers. ;)

You could go for an SLR which is slightly lower, then lower it further as I have done mine to help get aboard with my ageing hips......

Evening Tim, can't say that I've ever ridden a dommie, once had a go on my mates 650 vigor and to be honest I was a little disappointed at the time as it seemed a tad gutless compared to an XBR, that's not to say it wasn't a nice mosheen but I was younger back then and always in a rush and the vigor didn't seem to want to be rushed :) :). Glad you've got your steed back up and road worthy and it was nice to read how the dommie restored your love of bikes again. Gotta just love a happy ending eh :D :D ...cheers, Michael

It came with the bike, many moons ago, and appears to just be a rubber mudflap.
The SLR/Vigor is a lower bhp version of the Dommie, which is more road orientated, and nowhere near as raucous.
I got a quer shock when I went to throw my leg over the bike today for the first time in 18 months, as I'm not exactly long of fetlock :-\ I remember riding the bike for years and thinking it wasn't that tall, until the rear shock eventually failed. Bought a replacement Hagon shock, and OMG! All of sudden, I needed a step ladder to get on the bike :-\ Good for your hip joint though, especially with a top box. Thank goodness for Yoga ;)

Just remembered a couple of other things I did to the Dommie. Fitted a cam chain, as it was getting well noisy in the top end dept, 67k, and done up the whole rear end. Swing arm etc blasted and repainted in 2pk black. New Hagon shock, neoprene shock protector, and all linkages stripped and replaced or regreased. When I took it for MOT yesterday, they where more interested in my £2.50 heated grips :)
