First having listed my Skorpion on ebay I bottled out and decided I would
give her one more roll of the dice. Then to rub salt in my already
wounded ego I took her, running like a hairy goat, to a local mechanic
and said 'sort this'. So hopefully she will come back running nicely
and I can stop being such a miserable git. That's assuming I haven't
done any real damage when I mal-adjusted the valves, the first time.
If that proves to be the case can anyone recommend a nicer silencer than the OME item. I have gotten so used the Bullet that muted tones of the Skorpion real need sorting. I don't want to have to re-jet if possible but it must be more characterful
many thanks

Have you tried Renegade ?
I've got one of their race pipes the link pipe has a 50mm end for the silencer to slip onto.
Almost any make of can will fit it.
Unfortunately the race can is way to loud for the local plod .
Renegade might sell you just a link pipe then you can pick any can ....

Oooh ! I used to run a CB500S with a Renegade race pipe.
Good quality Stainless and quite fruity note too.
Along with K&N,Dynojet and a rear sprocket off an XBR to raise the gearing.
Sounded like a Doodle Bug in top at 60mph......not that I stayed at 60 for long :-)

Doodle Bug , That describes it to a t .
It was on the Skorpion when I picked it up and it don't half let the horses free ,
My mate clocked me at well over the ton on the M42.
The sound bouncing of the cars as I passed :)
No air filter , standard jetting and the plug was the perfect colour !
Shame I had to mess with it ....... After being pulled over 3 times ......The standard silencer went back on......
I'm looking out for a Blue flame can ,hopefully they sound as good as they look !

From memory Renegade charge quite a lot for their connector pipes.

I had a look and this looks like a real possibity inshallah. Thanks for the tip. They can do road legal ones dropping from 93 to 80Dbs

What is the name of the company with the removable discs in the silencer. I once followed Eyres XBR with it on and when I complained it was hurting my ears on the motorway he adjusted it at the next pub stop.
Couldn't you fit the Goldie silencer from the Bullet then ?

GC had a 350 Goldie on his XBR Motad front pipe.Whilst I had First a long narrow mega type then the long reverse ally cap mega.
All without any form of packing just the perforated baffle. All sounded Sweeeet....!!!
I know the pipe you mean with the discs.....B@gger I cant remember the make....American thing my mate has a Hi-Level one on his Sportster....Damn !
I'll remember it soon..!

I REMEMBER.....SUPERTRAPP !
Thats the one with the discs.

The American thumper site said the Supertrap, despite being louder, actually reduces available power. That's because it isn't intended as a silencer but a spark arrestor for use in dry forests. A properly designed silencer increases power but reduces noise.

Well I have gone and done it, I ordered a renegade for the Skorpion today, I'll let you know how I get on. Of course now that it is running properly I've only got to fix the new mini indicator that has packed up - never again...
