Obscure I know, but does anyone out there happen to know if they share the same rear shock? Part nos. differ by one digit, but all ancillaries/linkages are the same part nos.

Hi Tim, I have always been under the impression the SLR and the FX ... ( Vigor ), were one and the same machine really. With the Vigor only differing with a couple of cosmetic differences. Headlamp cowl / fairing , the black side panels and exhaust heat shields..... I am certain a telephone call to David Silver Spares ( 01728-833020 ) would confirm this.... Or even a Honda dealer...? Sorry to hear about the shock dying on you... That one of mine was offered to a mate of mine... he didn't bite... so it went as one of the trade - in's for the new Guzzi.... Whereupon my mate, "kicked himself" ...... and then bought it off the dealer..!!!! He does realise though, that I wanted to give him a "good kicking " as well..!! I know for a fact that Honda will only sell the complete shock with a fork-end on it.... There has got to be a suspension firm out there that will have something second hand that will fit. Here's hoping.... Tony

I would say the shock is the same length with different length mounts but they screw off on some shocks I have emailed a guy in the uk that has both bikes let ya know what he says but I cant really see to much difference in them tommy

Hi Tim, Just been looking.... and found... Falcon Shock Absorbers Ltd. They seem to have been around for over a quarter of a century, so they must be doing something right. I am sure a phone call would be well worth it. They have a web-site, and are in Wareham, Dorset. 01929-554545 Not a name I have come across before.... Has anybody here any experience of them...? Go for it Tim, it's only a phone call. Tony

just heard they are the same tim

Excellent, I thought that. Just measured hole centres, and they are close enough. So if anyone else on here is bidding on the one on ebay, please stop ;)

Falcon used to sell a lot of cheap shocks for twin shock trial bikes, I haven't heard that name for a long time.
Edit: looking at their website it looks like they don't sell mono-shocks:
