Title: Tyres
Post by: steveD on February 01, 2015, 07:13:21 PM
I have recently got an absolutely standard CB250RS, always wanted one and got this for a song. All complete and with a new battery and carb clean has fired up. Engine sounds brilliant despite its 43K miles!
It has been stood for about 10 yrs and I want to get some new tyres for it. Any recommendations / suggestions? (and NO round will not be helpful Mark / Jethro!)

Cheers Steve

Hi Richard. I still have my Tenere which I will use for camping all year around so I will put some good road only tyres on the CB. Not exactly sport tyres but something like the BT45's
Cheers Steve

Hi Steve,

Avon Road Riders I reckon. They are superb on my 205RS and seem to last for ages. (probably not doing enough miles/year on it )

If winter rallying I would have reccomended some Mud and Snow tyres.  I'll be fitting them on the MZ next time around - which is probably going to be years away mind.

Otherwise I would go with the above.

For good road grip, I would also recommend Avon Roadriders.

Evening Steve, yes I can also vouch for the Avon,s, have them on the XBR cafe racer and have no complaints with them at all, reasonably priced too.

another vote for road riders.
BT45's might have more grip but dont last as well and they front can wear oddly if you corner hard as the edges are softer than the middle.
not a problem on the avons , also the avons are cheaper usually
