Title: XBR Rear Shocks
Post by: Oldtimer on August 31, 2014, 11:21:40 PM
Is it possible to remove the springs from the shocks on the stock units?

Yes you can. As I recall you need to compress the spring a bit then put the top eye in a vice and there is a lock nut you unscrew to dismantle the unit. If you need the section from the workshop manual PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.  The XBR shocks are actually very good -especially for OE shocks and especially for a Honda!!  They don't lose their damping like many others and as long as the damper rod isn't badly pitted they last ages - I think you can replace the seals too.
