I want to fit an xl 600 barrel and piston to my xbr 500, would I need to modify the head and with ref to carbs, wld I need to put a 650 carb on??? cheers

Will it fit without modding the frame? The XL lump is a wee bit taller.

Yes you can fit a 600 barrel but you need the right one. I believe you can also use the XBR head ** don't panic if you find a crack from the plug hole to one of the valve seats- most XBR's have it and it doesn't seem to have any effect.
