Title: XBR removal of air filter

Hi all
Do I need to do any adjustments to the needles or something like like, if I decide to remove my air filter box and replace with direct intakes?

the air box is nearly as vital as the exhaust for power delivery - taking it off will sound fast with all the intake noise- and almost certainly wreck the power curve

you may get some more top end- and it will feel fast as you roll through the massive hole created in the middle

I only know of one person that tried this and it didn't run at all well, an aftermarket carb is the only real way to go without an airbox.

Hi all
Funny thing this fuel air mixture malarkey , I ran my xbr cafe racer in "dry build " form all last year with the  STANDARD carb and a K and N pod filter and a stainless 2 into1 zorst system and ran without a beat missed. It would pull 90/100 with the only downside at the time being the slipping clutch which did make for some " entertaining" overtakes. The bike has since been completely stripped down, the engine included and been rebuilt to a higher state of tune, complete with brand new mikuni carb and the same K and N filter as before I have only had chance to do a couple of shortish runs as it now, but again so far it appears to run/ pull brilliantly.  Much better than a standard xbr.   Regards moto63

Ps. At the time I was running a "predator" 2 into1 zorst, it now has a different, much better 2into1 on. Cheers moto63
