Title: XBR500 spring sound when downshifting
Post by: guest1703 on September 26, 2013, 09:02:54 AM
Hi all

I have this wierd problem. Sometimes when I downshift to third or second gear, I hear this spring sound for about 3-4 seconds. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

Thanks a lot!

Is your chain correctly adjusted ?, sounds like it could be slack striking the swinging arm or a frame tube or perhaps a stand spring.

Sorry for the late reply, but off course you where right :) The chain was quite too loose...
Thank you so much for your help!

You should consider checking your chain adjustment on a weekly basis, nothing buggers-up sprockets faster than a sloppy chain...........it also gives you crap gear changes !.
