hi ive split crankcase to check play in crank, and to see if gears r ok. all ok, should i replace bearings and seals and if so which ones, i havnt taken crank out of bearing our removed any of the transmission :-\

why did you split the cases? if you suspected duff bearings then ok, but if it ran ok and you took it apart anway and then found out that everything was ok, then put it back together and use it.

thanks johnr bike bought as a non runner, just thought while it was apart to change seals or bearings would be belt and braces

to be honest, if its not run a while i might whip off the top end and see how the cam and followers looks. then put it together and trea it to fresh oil and filter. run it and if it leaks then swap the seals, but tbh theyre a pretty robust lump so as long as the bore hasnt got any rust on it, and it turns over and selects gears ok, then just run it.

When you do put it back together again pour some oil into the bucket below the cam to keep that lubricated and don't forget to bleed the oil pump.
