Title: Honda XL400 auto decompressor

Hi all,
aquired an Honda RS with an XL400 motor in it as im rather short i struggle to kick it over a standard 250 isnt a problem but then they have automatic systems
does anyone know if you can fit a manual/auto de-compressor system to the XL400?
i believe the XL500 has one fitted but i dont believe the 400 does, would the 500 one fit?

doing some rummaging around on the internet hasnt turned up much yet apart from the fact that the XL4 appears to be an import and not a UK model and europe only

it depends whether its a bored out 250 or a sleeved down 500. the japs build these 400s cos they have a 400 class licence in their stepped system thats very popular. look at pictures of 500 motors alongside yours and see if theyre the same lump. you might find you only need a 500 cam cover with the decomp link in.
