have been told by my bike shop that there is too sizes of fork leg meaning two sizes of fork seals is this true ....??

As far as I know the fork assembly remained the same right through the model run.
Standard seal is 35-48-11. Refil 283cc of either ATF or SAE10 fork oil. Seperating the fork tube/ lower leg can be a bit if a bu99er even when you've undone the lower leg bolts( :-[). A length of zinc plated scaffold tube is just the right size to use as a slide hammer to drive the new seals home.
When you re-assemble, if you lower the front end through the yorks by 1/2 inch it quickens up the steering.
Wemoto sell the fork seals and dust seals.
