Title: SRX exhaust question
Post by: Fatboy on July 28, 2012, 03:52:12 PM
After some advise. I've managed to get a nearly new
exhaust system for my SRX600 but the down pipes
join together before joining the collector box via one
inlet hole. Is this off a SRX400 or import?? My bike came
with a butchered exhaust system which was knackered
so ended in the skip. I've looked at the technical drawing
on the SRX website and it shows two down pipes
into two holes in the collector box. ??
Anyone got any ideas ??

The exhaust system you have bought is off the (later) monoshock SRX 400 or 600 (Both grey Imports). I know the downpipes will fit but you will probably need to modify the silencer as the twinshock wheelbase is shorter than the Monoshock. You will also find that the mountings do not line up and you will have to make new brackets if you are going to use this on your (what I assume is a ) twinshock bike. Im enclosing the parts list (re Exhausts) for both Mono and twin shock models. These clearly show a difference in shape of the exhausts. If you need to sell the exhaust you have bought, I do know that SRXweb member was looking for monoshock downpipes (ref to this thread:-  http://www.thumperclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=6470.0 )

Hope this helps.

Ian, you are a good samaritan (and have good memory).

Fatboy, I do look for this sort of exhaust pipes. I have in my stock the two separate tubes. I think I have a muffler as well but I have to give a look cause I sold parts recently, but I think I know someone who can have one.
