Things to do, and places to see are coming thick'n'fast now - so it must be nearly Springtime! Once again Martyn, his son Daniel and myself are going to attend the Bishops Castle Beer Festival 2012 over the weekend of the 6-8 July.

And will be staying at the very good Foxholes Castle campsite. If you intend to go book early as it fills up quickly!

It really was a good last year with the whole town participating in the event. Maybe see some of you there?

I've booked, then realised it's the closest weekend to our wedding anniversary. Wish me luck when Sue finds out!

Take her with you, she'll love it.

It'll be a first - taking someone who is teetotal to a beer festival and expecting them to enjoy it!
Mind, I did take her to the Mansfield festival once (well, I got her to give me a lift home) and she was quite amused watching me grimace when the Morris dancers flounced in. Apologies to any Morris dancing fans, but they just annoy the hell out of me.

The whole town participates, six pubs all with outside bars, bbq live, music etc. It's not really a lads pi55 up.
Some nice shops for the ladies. A real relaxed family carnival atmosphere.
My wife and sister enjoy it but they also enjoy the local perry.

Right - I've told Sue about it and she's tagging along. Now the only question is how to get two of us and all the camping gear on the 650. Looks like we may be going B&B!

Hi Trevor
Glad you can both make it. If you've still got the Fazer why not use that or even come in the car. It's not really a bike rally just an excuse to drink beer!
This place is about 200yds from the campsite:

All the B&Bs within staggering distance are fully booked, so it's back to the camping (somehow!). I told Sue it would be handy if she'd learn to ride, then we could take both bikes.
"Yes, dear" was the reply.

Booked the camp site, see you there, we will bring the sidecar outfit

It looks like this might be a wash-out. The weather forecast is looking pretty grim.
Boyd's told me that he's not going to be there, and we're looking doubtful now.

I'll still be there and Tim is still up for it at the last email.

Not a bad weekend, weather turned out to be better than expected, once the rain stopped at 7pm on friday the rest of the weekend it was dry and even sunny and hot at times.
The town was as full as ever and the drink was mostly good, took a break in the evening and got the grill and tripod out for a bit of fine cuisine before heading back down for a couple more beers.
