Title: GB500 question
Post by: guest7 on January 30, 2007, 02:24:54 AM
This might seem like a stupid question, but where is the engine oil drain bolt located on the standard GB motor?

I only ask because the hole in the crankcase where the XBR bolt is located seems to be blocked off on my GB motor.

Cheers

At the bottom of the oil tank on the righthand side and just below and aft of the oil filter. 12mm spanner. If you let it idle for a minute or so on the centrestand, most of the oil will be in the tank. Mind the aluminium sealing washers: sometimes they stick to the casting then fall off into the hot oil.

just below and aft of the oil filter.

Ahhh... I see. On the XBR it is on the other side of the engine, half hidden behind teh lower frame rail.

Much appreciated, thanks
