Title: srx400 cylinder bore and piston specs

hi i need to check the bore of cylinder and check for piston wear etc...does anyone know what the correct wear limits are....am i ok to go by limits shown in the srx600 workshop manual?

Sorry I dont have this info. I would have expected the 600 piston clearances to be greater than the 400.

thanks Steve i expect the same but cant find the specs i need anywhere....

Aye beezer764,

This link maybe of use: 'SRX4-6-SpecTable' (http://www.srx400.co.uk/srx4-srx6-table.sxc.pdf)

You can also download the SRX600 workshop and owners manuals from this site if you wish.

My 'gut feeling' would be to end gap the rings as normal, allowing for the same ratio of end/side gap as that for the SRX6.

Pages from SRX6 manual that you need to see are 3-28 & 3-29. If you can't find them, PM me and I will attach them to my reply.

You could try this http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=63414 he has an XT400 manual listed. I believe the SRX400 and XT400 engines are similiar.
